Hello readers!
Welcome to my newsletter where I let you know how I’m getting on with my artistic doings. As arty news goes this is probably as exciting as it’s got for me! (thus far)…
DON’T EAT THE PINK SNOW
My FIRST EVER 28 page full colour anthology comic has gone to print!
Here’s a proof to prove it!
You can pre-order it here RIGHT NOW! And I will be selling them in person at Thought Bubble on the 11th and 12th of November.
THOUGHT BUBBLE 2023
Are you coming to Thought Bubble this year? I recommend it. It’s MASSIVE! There are three huge halls. Keep your eyes peeled in the DSTLRY Hall and you can find me or my esteemed colleague Christian (if I am in the khazi) at table B68-B. Hopefully see you there!
THERE’S SAND ON THE DILDO!
The last page of this story! Thanks for coming along for the (slow) ride with me.
The finished coloured page appears in the aforementioned comic. So sling me a fiver and you can enjoy the tale in its entirety.
It’s worth me saying that this is a landmark event in my life. It may not mean much to anyone else, but throughout my existence I’ve found it extremely difficult to finish things (unless I’m making something with my friends). I am currently 42 and I’ve been drawing comics since I was maybe 12/13. In that time, outside of one page offerings and tiny zines, the amount of multi-page comics I have ever finished prior to this is NET ZERO. If this resonates with you, keep going!
I suppose it will all come out in the wash, as they say.
My pal Tommy has made possibly the greatest plea to “like and subscribe” ever, in this meticulous re-telling of decapitated Ian Holm’s sinister milky scene in the 1979 classic “ALIEN” (about 4 mins in, but the whole video is great)
That’s all for now. I’ll go behind the scenes and share some other stuff I’ve been making next time!
THANKYOUBYE! x
Carl
P.S. Speaking of ALIEN, I heard somewhere the other day that they used a chicken egg on a chocolate browny for the original classic trailer. It’s possible that I dreamt it. Best check.
YEEEEAHH CP!! So enormously proud of you man. Hope you have a blast at thought bubble!
